This started as a thought experiment of "what would have happened if Louisiana was never purchased?" The result is this map and a story I am planning. Things worth noting: No Panama, we never needed a canal so did not aid their independance; my story takes place before Belize gains independence so it is here labeled British Honduras; Florida is part of Cuba; Oregon is Russian, yay, hence the Cyrillic; Maine is part of Massechusetts, no Missouri Compromise, no Maine. The lines in Louisiana and Florida are for story purposes, you'll have to read to find out what they are.
